Lanette Gavran
Lanette first encountered Pilates at the age of 11yrs in a weekly floor class as part of her ballet training. It was the one class she really enjoyed because of the strength and sense of connection to every part of her body when dancing afterwards.
In 1996 she enrolled in Pilates instructor training through Sandra Lauffenberger, Pauline Johnson and Penelope Latey. Through this training Lanette learned an appreciation of correct muscle sequencing for efficient movement potential.
In 2000 Lanette enrolled in the Body Arts and Science International instruction training through Shauna Hall and Sally Anderson and lead by Rael Isacowitz at the gold coast. Here Lanette realized the true intelligence and beauty of what the Pilates method could offer.
In 2004 Lanette continued to study with Sally Anderson, and became one of the original faculty members and host studios for the Pilates International training courses. At the same time she became one of the original members of the Pilates Alliance of Australasia, an independent body established to be a not-for-profit organization that would help to recognize and regulate the burgeoning Pilates industry in Australia and the region of Australasia.
Since then, Lanette has continued to study Pilates primarily with Sally Anderson, and the increasing number of guest national and international Pilates presenters. Her studios of Pilates Canberra flourished to provide the public of the ACT with quality Pilates instruction since 1997, and the Pilates Canberra RTO has produced great instructors who teach Pilates throughout Australia and abroad.
Since the recent sale of her studios to her senior instructors, Lanette has been freer to follow her passion of continuing education in the Pilates industry and assisting fellow instructors to establish a more professional and viable career pathway in teaching the Pilates method.
