Why should I choose National Pilates Training as a Course Provider?The Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction (91121NSW) is the first and only competency based professional Pilate’s qualification to be government recognised and VETAB accredited in Australia. Developed by Pilates International Pty Ltd, (an RTO), and licensed by National Pilates Training, (an RTO) this program is unlike any other Pilates program currently offered to health and fitness professionals today. Why is obtaining a Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction important?As a graduate of the Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction you will receive greater recognition as a Pilate’s professional. You will be trained to formal and recognisable standards that are VETAB accredited and government endorsed. This course is the only professional Pilates program within the vocational education and training (VET) system, and has set a benchmark for the Pilate’s industry and Pilates training programs. It has been extensively reviewed by external bodies, and incorporates standards within the health and fitness industry. The delivery of the qualification is through a combination of delivery modes which include off-the-job contact (face-to-face lectures and laboratory hours), on-the-job work experience (observation, Training hours) and self-directed (self-study and self-mastery). What are the pre-requisites for entry into the Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction?Minimum pre-requisites and requirements are: - Attainment of HSC or equivalent (e.g. mature age entry or TAFE certificate)
- Hold a Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Must have done a minimum of 60 hours in personal Pilate’s practical sessions (either matwork or studio. If only matwork has been done, we highly recommend participating in 2 studio per week prior to course commencement.)
- Must demonstrate a good knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology, which has been attained through a recognised complementary health care college, or equivalent. It should be noted that HSC anatomy and physiology do not meet the A&P pre-requisites.

::Return to top:: 7. What is the assessment strategy? A variety of assessment methods are used in alignment with the principles of competency based training. The assessment strategy is a combination of quizzes and workbooks, scenarios/role plays, practical demonstrations, written exams, work experience, teaching application, self-mastery application, and critical report/analysis. Where possible, National Pilates Training makes available reasonable adjustments in assessment for individual needs. ::Return to top:: 8. Can I re-sit an assessment? Students will be limited to three attempts at each assessment or examination (including original attempt). After this each an additional $100 re-sit fee will apply. Assessment appeals and grievance procedures are fully outlined in the Student Handbook. ::Return to top:: 9. How does the cost of the course compare to other courses? The cost of the qualifications are benchmarked against other specialised and complimentary health care qualifications within the Vocational Educational & Training (VET) sector as offered through private registered training organisations under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). ::Return to top:: 10. During the course students are required to maintain a regular workout schedule – (1 supervised and 1 unsupervised workout per week) these workouts are charged at a student rate of $29.00 per session. All matwork sessions are at no extra cost. All students are encouraged to become an Associate member ($75.00) of the Pilates Alliance Australasia. This is an industry body independent of the Training Centre, and will offer independent assistance if required. ::Return to top:: 11. Am I covered by insurance during the course?At the National Pilates Centre every student is covered through the studio insurance. In other studios you should be covered by that studios Public Liability insurance. ::Return to top:: 12. After successful completion of the course can we get insurance? Yes, after completion of Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction you are eligible for Level 1 full membership with the Pilates Alliance Australasia. Therefore you are eligible to apply for AON malpractice/professional indemnity insurance. ::Return to top:: 13. What is the maximum number of students? National Pilates Training aims to keep the student numbers controlled within each intake. Groups in the previous NPT intakes range from 4 to 13. Based on the extensive training and studio facilities and the highly trained and industry experienced faculty, these numbers are appropriate and can be catered for.::Return to top:: 14. What is the refund policy? - The Application fee of $40 is non-refundable in any circumstance.
- If a student withdraws 2 weeks prior to the date of course commencement, all course fees paid will be refunded less 10% administration fee.
- Following commencement of the course, fees paid will be non-refundable and all payment schedules must be honored by the student

- Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice (91120NSW)
- PICP certification in the Pilates Method
- Relevant degrees as appropriate to their area of teaching (dance, human movement, physiotherapy, osteopathy, nursing, medical science, health science).
- Level III membership or higher with the Pilates Alliance Australasia
All members of faculty undertake regular in-house professional development programs.
