“I want to help people help themselves”
Ashlea began Pilates at sixteen years of age when she started suffering recurrent sprains in her lower back from poor posture mixed with years of representative level basketball. From then she discovered a love for the Pilates method and the ways it can help rehabilitate injury not only from sport, but also from everyday life.
She then went on to university to study a degree in Osteopathy, and after three years of intense study found she needed a break, and decided to take two years off university to study the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction to further her skills in helping people. She found learning the Pilates method taught her a lot about her own body and the importance of maintaining your physical and mental health.
Ashlea is returning to finish the final two years of her Osteopathy degree in 2018 while working as a Pilates Instructor in the CBD studio. She has a passion for rehabilitation of sporting injuries, and guiding people in believing in the Pilates method as strongly as she does.
